Adoption is suppose to be a good thing!

I'm gonna vent a little today. I have some really good friends that want to adopt a child - they are really good people and all they wanna do is give a child a wonderful home. As a matter of fact, most people that are willing to adopt a child have some very good morals and traits - to me that alone qualifies them for just wanting to. Adoption is not for everyone, but every child deserves a place to call home. Imagine if you had not had that place to call home - no matter how many times you got in trouble or didn't listen to your parents. You could always call it home.

Today I'm gonna share some very hardcore truths about adoption or shall I say adoption agencies. You would think that since on every channel televised nationally you see several PSA (public service announcements) for children that are awaiting adoption. Fact is, that some very responsible family will call on that company to give to a needing child and in return they get more red tape than they can handle, not including fees for who knows what - now don't take this the wrong way, I do understand why a background check and some other safety and precaution measures are taken when screening a family wanting to adopt a child. I completely understand that, but I do have a hard time with amount that these agencies charge the families that are willing to adopt a child. What kind of service is this? Is it a legallized black market for children? They don't mention in these ads that it will cost families between $20,000 and on up to $40,000 to adopt a child. And why is that? I don't understand, however I do understand that you need to get a lawyer and blah, blah, blah. But why do lawyers charge almost $10,000 for this fee? What's more important here - the money or the child? I think I can get away with saying that today most families can't afford to write a check for the $10,000 to the lawyer, not including addition fees from the adoption agency. So what does this mean? Does it mean that these children are waiting for some class that set's between middle and upper class to come and get them? In reality in today's economy you can completely scratch out the middle class from adopting a child. So what's the chance that a upper class family will adopt? And if they do, what percentage of those families are willing to give up their party barge to adopt a child? It sucks if you ask me. And for you people that think I'm foolish for saying this - call the adoption agency and adopt a child - then post a comment when it's complete.

My concern is the child and after the story I was told - it sucks to have your life invaded for 6 months or so and then you have to turn around and write a 5 figure check before you are able to give a needing child a home. but what frustrates me more than anything is this - the adoption agencies have adapted a financing plan for credit worthy applicants. How ridiculous is that 0 the cost of adoption has rose so high that you have to get a bank loan to cover it. And in some cases they have an option where you can finance the down payment as well as the balance. Who is desperate here? Someone please make me understand this process. I wonder if it is a tax write-off? No but seriously, I couldn't imagine financing a child - oh wait let me phrase that in a way that an agency would phrase it - "financing the state fees, attorney fees, regulatory fees, filing fees, birth certification fees..etc, etc, bs, bs, bs." Stop jacking around people that wanna give a child a home. the way I see it - take some of that money that you are producing these multi-million dollar TV ads and help those parents that are willing to give a child a home.

And what's even more frustrating is that you can find ads in the paper for families seeking to adopt a child - guess who posts that ad? Adoption agencies, attorneys, etc. The seeking families do not put those in the papers, you know why? Because all the damn ads look alike:

Bill and Tammy are seeking to adopt a loving child into their wonderful home. They have a nice home in a quiet neighborhood in Chino Hills. Please call 888-222-0101.

If you haven't seen one of these ads, just check any Los Angeles newspaper and you will find one. Call it and find out who answers - It's the damn people that are charging Bill and Tammy $30,000 + for a child. What do they expect some teenager to call them and say, "Hey I'm pregnant and don;t want my parents to know, but I don't wanna have an abortion either - what should I do?" What the hell do they need these ads for when their are so many children in foster homes now? Someone please help me understand this process and what make it right.

Adoption is a beautiful thing - or is it only if you pay the players? My advice is this - adoption is not based on inflation or supply and demand, it's based on the presence of God, morals and people that wanna give that child a home. Not the total amount of savings that you have in order to qualify. Basically that's what it is - If you can afford to purchase this child - then you can have him/her - if not, you can finance the child for a low low down payment of....aww go to hell with that and sell cars if you like doing leases - let those people give that child a home. Oh what happens if you fall behind on the payments? Do you threaten to repossess the child? Sell him again? This system needs to change. Maybe I'm taking it to another level - but hell that's what I'm supposed to do. This is media, but make since out of for me.

Ok, I'm getting a headache, if you are someone that can share some quality information about this process or has adopted a child in the past - PLEASE share your story with me and make me understand this process. Because I'm scared to ad tags to this article, because it may take some good family to one of these money scamming agencies and that's not my intent.

Are you dealing with Depression?

One thing I can say is this - I'm know expert on DEPRESSION, but I am pretty experience with it and dealing with it.

Sometimes you can feel so lonely, left-out and down - especially in times like this with the economy low, less jobs and stress. When they use the expression, "depression hurts" it's true and sometimes we resort to drugs, alcohol and other abusive things to OURSELVES, usually because we think they will make things better. Take it from me - it doesn't and I don't have to tell you that, because it has been said over and over again. I know some people who deal with it - usually get very tired of hearing it. I know I do.

But I can tell you this - It don't have to hurt. As a matter of fact there are several ways to handle depression whether it is you or someone you love. And I'm not saying that you have to order some prescribed pill - I'm saying that you can decide how to handle depression on your own. I'm gonna give you something the doctor does not prescribe. It's something that you will enjoy doing and something that you have forgotten. Before they developed the so-called "depression drug" - depression existed. It existed a long time ago.

The best way to deal with it is to face it - get back to being you, get back to doing things that you enjoy. Whether it's riding a bicycle or ice skating - I don't care, but you have to decide that you will not allow yourself to be depressed. You know why? Because you have no choice, you can't beat yourself up anymore - you have to get up and attack it just like it attacks you. I made myself a motto - "I will not let anyone hurt me, if there is gonna be any hurting to me -I'm gonna do it. But I refuse to hurt myself." And if you are like me and you have a family that depends on you - then you have no choice. Fact is, life is tough, it's the toughest thing you will ever do - and that's LIVE. But no one can LIVE for you, so you have to do it. You have to get up and attack life with the fullest. No matter how late the bills are, no matter how many abusive relationships you been in and no matter how long you been on drugs - YOU can change that right now. It's up to you, period point blank. Don't wait for the someone to come and get you - go and get them. You have to decide that you can't be depressed anymore, I can write this blog, but you have to read it. And one thing I know that if you have read this long? Then you know what I'm talking about. So don't wait - Start today on beating depression and doing something you love to do again.

More Shootings? Gunman Kills 13

How can we prevent these things from happening? I'm not sure we can. CNN has a full report about a gunman walking in the American Civil Association on friday and firing 98 shots killing 13, before killing himself.

I give my blessing to those families who have to suffer through this horrible event.

Could this have been prevented? Why did this happen? We will never know why this happened and I guarantee authorities hate it when a violent crime is committed and then the assailant turns and kills himself/herself - because justice can't be carried out and questions are left unanswered. Also it was reported that gunman was wearing a bulletproof vest. Now think about that one - Why would he wear a bulletproof vest and then shoot himself in the head? Hmm. As a matter of fact - Where did he get the bulletproof vest?

It was also noted that he made several attempts to purchase different guns and he would return to the merchant to cancel orders. Why do we always report these behaviors after someone has been shot and killed. This type of suspicious act should have been reported to authorities before now.

When are we gonna wake up guys? If a guys asks you for a bulletproof vest or several handguns, what do you think he is gonna do? He definitely is not deer hunting - seriously?

Please comment on this and tell me your thoughts - maybe we can help answer some of the questions that leaves American wondering where the next place will be? We can help each other prevent it from happening in our neighborhood.
